There is only one way to describe this release- barbaric fucking hell. Bahimiron is bestial black metal played with conviction and in homage to their influences- Finnish UGBM and The Ross Bay Cult ( Blasphemy, Conqueror, Revenge). This is an angry, whiskey swilling, self- mutilating slab of carnage not easy to swallow and probably was never meant to be. This is one of the most underrated black metal bands in existence- they are black metal terrorists and by terrorist I mean this band has one objective- to destroy everything in its left hand path in honor of Goats, Blood and Blasphemy. " Rebel Hymns" is the highlight here at almost 9 minutes- but you won't be snoozing.. you will feel uneasy. Enjoy

2.Occulta Sodomistica
3.In Nomine Sathanas
4.Part I - Summon The Beast/Part II - Seeds Of Evil
5.Rise From Hades
Total Playing Time: 44:33 min

It's sort of a supergroup featuring members of Lugubre, Satanic Funeral, Marks of the Masochist, and yes... Xasthur. This release leans more towards the depressive side of black metal thanks to Malefic's keyboard overlays and distorted bass lines. I can say without a doubt this is the truest form of cold, dark, satanic devotion- truer than anything I have heard from Europe or Scandanavia. So, dust off that old black cloak out of the closet, light some black candles and let your soul absorb " Imperium Magnum Infernalis" Dont' believe it? - check it out

The Doom/Sludge/ Black Metal Label "Flenser", has produced some real gems in the last year with two of the them being in my top 5- Necrite and this seething black metal monster from the creator of Pandiscordian Necrogenesis. True, this doesn't break new ground -but the punk riffs mixed with black metal atmosphere make this a must listen. This is a 30 minute battering ram- check it out.

8. Call of Wolf
9. Fullmoon Rising
10. Sylvan Winter Madrigal
11. Astigan Se Beorg (Journey up the Mountain)
Total Playing Time: 1hr 19min

The state of Kentucky manages to release some great metal from artists like Panopticon, Seidr, to this atmospheric and ominous gem from multi- instrumentalist Patrick T. Hall. Sapthuran has shared splits with many DSBM artists like SAD and Leviathan- but to say this is DSBM really doesn't cut it. This is more Burzum than Xasthur and the man truly deserves recognition for another great addition to USBM. The Wanderer is told in two parts from spectres to werewolves with low-fi minimalist production which helps create its evil "aura". Forever a Wandering Spirit " is the highlight - check it out

Bringing forth the chant of cursed blessing, the atmospheric Demoncy with sole member Ixithra reared its ugly head back in 1999. This was a great addition to the USBM scene with a release that can truly set the mood of " evil and death ". Killjoy of Necrophagia and a million other bands was ahead of his time when he released this on his Baphomet label. The vocals are the highlight- check it out.

6. Upon The Harvest Sky 9:29
7. Hymns Of The Ashes 4:53
Total Playing Time: 1:01:22

Here's a great cd for autumn that just came out this year; It's Dark
Procession from Indiana's 2nd full-length. This is great to get baked to because the whole album is unexpected, almost every part. This goes from beautiful acoustic passages to raging ferocious punk black metal. Then back again without missing many stops in between, but overall it still retains the feel of relaxing and mellow stoner black metal. Nice and experimetal stuff that you can buy at the EEE webshop.

After practically worshipping the previous WolvHammer debut, Black Marketeers of World War III- I anxiously awaited this release. This is an angry mother fucker packed with blackened riffage and sllllluuuudge and a little crust just to keep things interesting. This will lay to waste much of what the metal world has to offer in 2011- check it out

This is the incredible Matron Thorn's first full length from one of my favorite bands, Benighted in Sodom. This album is a must have for black metal fans, it's got gorgeously sorrowful swirling guitarwork that will bring you to a whole 'nother level of existence. This album is a constant state of pure sonic bliss and the start of many more great albums to come. Matron exudes passion on this inspired release.

5. Ritual Abuse 12:59
Total Playing Time: 55:19

Virginia's Cough, a 4-man Doom outfit, is back with their 2nd full-length, Ritual Abuse. The album's overall sound is pretty typical of stoner doom, but it's overall quality isn't quite as typical. The vocals go back and forth between a more traditional stoner doom style, and a pained clean style. Definitely worth a shot for any fan of the genre.

7. The Slow Spiral 6:11
8. Lonely Corners of Existence 6:39
9. Futile Menace - Outro 2:29
Total Playing Time: 54:59

Wow, here's a very interesting album from Hildolf's project Draugar and this one is hard to describe because it's just so damn out there. The raw production, vocals a bit reminiscent of Wrest at times but seriously 10 times more psychotic, meandering creepy keyboards, and insane guitar riffs blistering with distortion all combine for one hell of a disturbing and chaotic experience. Not for the casual listener, but holy hell I love this one.

Starting a fresh new blog is always hard because it's a blank slate and the posts are going to seem very random for awhile until I set up a base. So, here's the sophomore classic from Virginia's blasphemous Grand Belial's Key. This album has no problems straying away from the traditional black metal formula with whatever they see fit including lots of kick ass heavy metal riffage. Also included on this edition is a GG Allin cover which just never hurts. It friggen rules.

Fucking Chicago. Has anyone else noticed that the whole Chicago area is making some downright amazing music lately? Murmur hits me hard because I just love raw black metal mixed with lots of ugly distortion and noise. You listen to this and you think to yourself, "something's gotta give". This shit will destroy the universe.
