Does anyone remember the band MASOCHIST? If you lived in the MidWest and was into the scene at that time - this band played all ages shows in Lansing, Michigan and scared the shit out of the death metal kids. Jeff Elrod (Tchort) was Satan and was raised on those old British devil worship films and believed in darkness and evil. Elrod was also a huge fan of some evil non U.S. bands Bathory and Beherit that "kicked the shit out of Slayer!" That was a more blasphemic statement than anything they sang about - fucking better than Slayer? The motherfucker was right and though this man entered the ninth gate in 2006- he managed to bring forth another band and unleashed the rawest 70's psychedelic/black metal ever heard at the end of the era- " The Wind of The Black Mountains". This is NOT an easy listen since it was recorded over 4 years and you can tell where the production fell short here and there- but goddamn Tchort creates some memorable riffs and an atmosphere similar to " The Devil Rides Out" films. The man was definitely ahead of his time. Check It Out: This is KVLT!
